Ive just totaled our ford focus. Thankfully kids were not in the car.

any one got any recomendations on a good 4X4

Sorry to hear of your crash, how did it happen.

We have a Rav 4, which is great, but I would also look at the Honda CRV and Freelander.

Why a 4X4??

got caught out by a patch of black ice going round a bend, slid straight off in to a hedgerow.

as for cars, I think a 4x4 will be safer with the kids ets also 4 wheel drive.

I was thinking of an old discovery any thoughts??

If it's for the safty issue then actually it's not going to be a 4x4.

Just thought I would let you know that we ended up getting a Volvo V50. Which I am pleasently suprised by.

My wife was completley against a 4x4, so this was a good compromise.

Saying that, I never imagined I would ever be driving a Volvo, especially not an estate. I guess I am just getting old

My father in law drives one, nice car, but a little flat cap brigade for my tastes.

I think the c60 is a great looking car though so have nothing against volvos, i would have one if I could afford it.
