I use Cell C usb modem and i always used to connect my ps3 to my laptop to get internet connection by just enabling "Allow other computers to connect to network" at Internet Connection Sharing . Thar used to work but now since my laptop was reformatted, the same trick doesent work anymore and i get an error on my ps3 timing out the attempt to obtain the IP
