So its time to go to bed, not you, the baby!
There are lots of conflicting reports about bed time routines although it seems to be widely accepted that some routine is good for the baby and for your own sanity. Below are our top tips to help both you and them get restful nights sleep:-
1. Ensure you make the room as relaxing as possible with little outside stimulus. No playtime now.
2. Dim the lights. (We think buying a night light that plugs into a wall socket is essential)
3. Make sure the room is not too hot or too cold.
4. Keep noise to a minimum so talk quietly and as little as possible.
5. Unless you have to try not to have to change the nappy at this time as this may wake them up even more.
6. Remember to burp the baby after you have fed them which will then (hopefully) leave you with a drowsy and contented little one ready for sleep time.
7. As the clocks have gone forward you may want to consider buying a black out blind to try and cut the natural light. (See our review of baa-baa blinds- they work)
Remember there are no fixed rules so do what works for you. Hopefully these tips will help you get some zzzz’s. Sleep well.
