I am sure this is a controversial topic for many. I was talking with a guy friend over the weekend who was telling me that his partner and him were looking into to being parents.
I was very ignorant as to how one goes about that in their situation. He asked me what I thought.

He has on many occasions looked after our kids and both he and his partner are great. They truly love kids and are very caring and supportive. If they weren't a gay couple there would not be an issue.

I do not think there is one anyway provided they are committed to the child, each other and have have the means then good luck to them.My same "test" for any couple. One of my mates had a completely different and forthright view and was adamant that they shouldn't. Anyone else out there have any strong views??

I think alot of peoples fear of same sex couples (and I think it's mostly male rather than female) comes from the fact they might try and impose their own sexual preferences on any child, but I think they'll choose what they choose, and I don't really care as long as it'll be happy.

Of course, as with every mum or dad, it depends on the individual - not their sexuality.

From what I understand, the adoption process is difficult and stressful, involving lots or rules, regulations and hoops to jump through. Anybody that makes it through that process should be considered more than suitable to be a parent, irrespective of their sexuality.

I cant see any reason why same sex couples shouldnt be allowed to adopt, like TheRub pointed out the adoption process is very strict and if they can make it through that then Im sure they are more suitable than quite a few 'normal' couples who have kids the natural way.

Same sex well ok. A lot better I would think than some of the parents walking aroung the place.
