What they say

KidZania® is a unique dual offering of entertainment and education for children. KidZania®, though it targets children aged from 4 to 15 years old, is a family experience. It is a kid-sized replica of a real city, with streets, buildings, retail and vehicles moving around the city – all scaled down to children's size. It involves role playing and the children are encouraged to take on a variety of parts, from doctor and firefighter to banker and policeman. Kids wear the uniform and perform the role they are playing and thus learn the complexity of the adult world.

We say:

If you are on a family holiday to Dubai, I would highly recommend a trip to Kidazania. Located in Dubai mall, it can easily be combined with a shopping trip for Mum and Dad, or a visit to the Dubai Aquarium.

The basic concept is that the children get to play and get a feel for what it is like in the grown up world.

On entry they receive a check that they have to take to the bank to cash giving them some money (Kidzos) that they will need during their experience in Kidzania.

There are different activities that the kids can perform, some activities require money, such as driving lessons and cooking classes, where as others are jobs that they earn money from. The kids get to experience different job roles from a news paper reporter to a fire fighter, and they can even go to university and pass diplomas (passing a diploma gives them better earning power when they perform jobs)

My kids, 2 and 4, absolutely loved the experience, and the 5 hours we spent there flew by. There are several eateries, and if you time it right your kids can make their own lunch, as they get to perform a job at a pizza shop where they make their own pizza which is then cooked and they get to take away with them.

If you are in Dubai with the Kids, this really is one activity you should try to do, however a week day is best as at the weekends as it gets very busy.
