5 out of 5 from Ye Gads

What they say

“Our mission is to assist governments to stop the smuggling of primates from the wild. At our Centre the refugees of this barbaric trade are rehabilitated into natural living groups.”

We say.

What a fantastic place and awesome day out. When we reviewed accommodation in the Poole area of Dorset we checked out Monkey world. We now understand that this has been featured on television but to be honest we hadn’t seen it.

We are no experts but it seems that they must every almost every type of Monkey around. From Lemurs,Marmosets,Squirrel monkeys,Gibbons, woolly monkeys, macaque right through to our very favourites the chimpanzees, capuchins and the lovely orangutans. What sets this place apart, in an excellent way, is the size of the enclosures. They are massive and all the monkeys seem to have lots of room to play and develop as one would imagine they would in the wild. The centre rescues you these lovely creatures and you just get a great sense when you are here that they are genuinely happy.

One of the Marmoset monkeys had a crowd of people laughing with his antics and screeching “song”.

The children and adults a like will love this place. Ample of space and plenty of picnic tables all over the place if you want to save a bit of cash and bring your own food etc. Alternatively there are lots of places where you can get hot and cold food (we were impressed with its quality) and plenty of drinks options.

The play areas for the children are simply top draw. They are also great for the big monkeys. It’s as if they have just decided that the humans also need to be able to climb up sturdy frames and swing on huge swings. I have never seen a bunch of dads in their 30’s trying to out swing each other on some swings.

This is a truly excellent venue, a great day out and coincidentally an excellent cause. In our view a must visit. You will love it.
