guys, my 1 year old took a dive off of the bed and broke his collar bone at the weekend.

The dr was saying that this was a very common injury. as it breaks as they put their arm out to stop the fall.

Anyway, not very nice even if it is common. It will be up to six weeks to heal, and unfortunatley they are unable to set the bones using plaster and so it has to be left to heal on its own, with just his arm in a sling.

He does look a sorry state wandering around

Sorry to hear that.

I have no experience on this yet as mine is due soon. But sounds as though you need to watch them like a hawk.

We have already tried to make the house as child proof as possible, you know, moving evrything as high as possible, kitchen door catches, plug covers etc etc

its amazing how un kid friendly our place was, glass coffee tables, brick fireplace blah blah blah.

anyway I hope he gets better soon

Hi Jimbo,

yes he is all better, just has a big lump where the bone has healed.

The Dr has assured us that this will lessen with time as he still has a lot of growing to do.
